A previous holder of the Singapore
President Scholarship, he graduated with B.Sc., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from University of Alberta, California Institute of Technology and Stanford University respectively. He attended postgraduate programmes in Business Administration at National University of Singapore and Harvard Business School. Professor Su is a registered Professional Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Singapore. He has served on the Professional Engineers Boards, Singapore for 6 years and was President, Institution of Engineers, Singapore from 1994 to 1996.
Since joining Ministry of Defence as a Research and Development Engineer, he has accumulated extensive experience in design, research, project management and general management of research and technology based organizations. His other board appointments include Singapore Cable Vision, Nanyang Technological University and DSO National Laboratories. He is also Advisor to a start-up company, Bitwave Pte Ltd. He was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 1989, the Public Service Medal in 1997 and the Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 1998 by the President of the Republic of Singapore. |
