The MDTS programme draws upon the synergies of two excellent institutions, namely the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the US Naval Postgraduate School (NPS). The MDTS programme aims to educate and integrate military staff and defence technologists in planning, designing, developing, creating, operating and sustaining integrated military forces of the 21st century.

Students of the unique MDTS programme learn by experimenting and in a hands-on environment. Apart from acquiring specialised knowledge in defence technology and systems, students benefit greatly from the bond-building/networking among the military staff, defence engineers and scientists. Indeed, the programme serves as an excellent platform for the academic staff, researchers, students and sponsoring agencies to come together and interact professionally with each other.

Students who successfully complete this programme will be awarded two degrees: a Master of Science (Defence Technology and Systems) degree [M.Sc.(D.T.S.)] and a Master of Science (in the relevant field) degree.
