Asia-Pacific Systems Engineering Conference 2007

Systems Engineering - East meets West

23 -24 March 2007

Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, Singapore

We are calling for papers for the "Asia-Pacific Systems Engineering Conference 2007" scheduled for March 2007 in Singapore.    Organised by Temasek Defence Systems Institute and the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering of National University of Singapore, this is the first systems engineering conference to be held in Asia in conjunction with the International Council for Systems Engineers (INCOSE).   We foresee participants from Australia, USA, Singapore, Japan, China, Korea and other parts of Asia. The keynote speakers are Prof Lui Pao Chuen, Chief Defence Scientist of Singapore and Dr D (Nanda) Nandagopal, Deputy Chief Defence Scientist (Systems) of Australia.

The theme of this Conference - "Systems Engineering - East meets West" - focuses on different approaches to systems engineering and new product design and development in different organizational and national cultures.    Systems engineering adds value to practitioners to cope with increasingly complex and dynamic environments and particularly the integration of diverse technologies and disciplines to create breakthrough products and dependable systems.     How this is done in the Eastern and the Western societies and its effectiveness shall be discussed.

Topics of special interest include, but are not necessarily limited to:

    Leadership/Executive Management
    • Systems Engineering Research
    • Earth Systems Engineering
    • Innovative Use of Information Technology
