TDSI organised the first Technical Conference at the US Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) at Monterey in November 2004 to enable researchers from NUS, DSTA and NPS to share experiences and to network with each other. The event was a huge success. |

| Following the success and extensive interesting arising from the first Technical Conference, a second conference named “Maritime Domain Protection Symposium 2005” was held at Honolulu, Hawaii from 12 – 14 December 2005. It attracted 50 participants from USA, Singapore and Australia. |

| The third conference was held in Singapore on 6-8 December 2006 with 70 participants from NPS, US Navy, DSTA, DSO, NUS, NTU and MINDEF. A major outcome from this conference was the decision to meet twice a year, alternating between Singapore and the USA. |
